The Desmond Episodes NEVER Dissapoint!! "Happily Ever After"

In a move that paralleled season 2 – having Desmond in the season premiere and then a long break with a return in a character centric episode – “Happily Ever After” was all I hoped it would be and more! We have now, to a certain extent, reconciled the point of the sideways universe and its importance, and of course, it took the wild card Desmond to unravel this little [I use little facetiously] mystery.

In his off island world Desmond has finally gotten, what Mrs. Eloise Widmore states as, what he always wanted, appreciation from Charles, and is for all intents and purposes living a fruitful existence in his alternate timeline. Hinting at possible clairvoyance [see what I did there], he predicts Claire’s unborn child is a boy, and skips around between the two timelines in both a near death experience at the hands of a flustered Charlie who already knows that there is something amiss in his current world, and also while being scanned in the Electro Magnetic Pulse of a MRI scanner -- the same type of EMP that causes Desmond to slingshot into the alternate timeline from the island in an Experiemnt to verify Widmore's hopes for Desmond's abilities. To what end will these abilities affect the war waging on the island -- we will just have to see.'

In an episode that offered just as many questions as explanations about the ins and outs of exactly what is going here we are introduced to the alternate versions of Charles Widmore, Eloise [Hawking] Widmore, Daniel [Faraday] Widmore, and Penelope [Widmore] Milton, who is definitively recognized as Daniel Faraday’s half sister. It is also interesting to point out the confirmation that Eloise still posses the ability to know what is happening, in a unversally significant way, to the LOSTies paths in both timelines and the decisions utimately made by all important parties in both 'worlds'. She tells Desmond not to concern himself with Penny much the way she tells him he "[doesn't] buy the ring" in the episode 3 episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes". She seems to be able to exist with knowledge of both worlds, which raises the question, "How?" and "Why?" Is she some sort of referee in the off island world like the unexplained boy with the bloddy hands seems to know the rules on island between Jacob and the 'Man In Black' ["The Substitute" S06E04].

In a round about nod to yhe film 'Back To The Future' it would appear that the theme of tonight's episode seemed to be the 'power of love' – a "spectacular love" so grand that once ignited in our LOSTies in their alternate timelines, is apparently the trigger that snaps them into revelations about their ‘other’ selves. To quote Charlie when he describes his experience "I've seen something real. I've seen the truth."

The most significant part of the whole endeavor is that so far the only other two people who have experienced what Desmond [the revelation in the alternate timeline of what has happened in the original] are characters who are dead on the island. This little chestnut adds credence to Desmond’s abilities and as someone who the rules do not apply to, makes me even more excited to see how this whole thing is going to play out.

Mr. Desmond Hume.. the island is most definitley not done with you YET!

Only 5 episodes until the SERIES FINALE. See you all later.

What!?

Apparently, right now in Farmville I can plant the seeds for, grow, and harvest NACHOS?  I understand planting a virtual garden for fake money and alternate reality experience points isn't exacty the most realistic of pursuits -- but i do feel strongly that growing nacho plants is just as rediculous as Homer Simpson's hot dog tree.  Just sayin... Pretty good April Fool's joke Facebook.

Itunes GENIUS may actually be a Genius?!?!

There are not a great deal of things that bring me such pure and simple joy in this world as the magic of the Genius capabilities of my ipod. Among these are certain TV shows I love [LOST, Mad Men, Community, BSG, 30 Rock, etc.], having to go number 2 in a public bathroom and the toilet NOT being warm [let's face it warm toilet seats in strange places are just unsettling], epiphanies, my solitaire application, NPR, a good night's sleep [super rare], the word "poop" [get's me every time -- I don't know why], and of course the genius application on the ipod [awesomeness]. Anyway, I have enjoyed the wonder of the genius for well over a year and believe it to actually be a GENIUS [the above graphic may be an overstatement, but is however what makes me smile]. When all I have to do is pick a song I like, hit the squiggly atom, and enjoy -- my heart fills with warmth, my faith in humanity returns for the duration of 25 songs, and all is right with the world. The genre driven perfection is like a little mix tape surprise I could almost never improve upon.
